Hosted by the Victoria Native Friendship Centre

September 29, 2019
9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Victoria Native Friendship Centre will celebrate on the territory of the Lekwungan Peoples on whose land we live, work and play. This year marks the 50th year of uninterrupted services for the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. To celebrate this great milestone, we invite you to enjoy this community day event September 29, 2019.

The Celebration starts with an Opening Circle to acknowledge the local traditional territory on whose land we live, work, and play. Throughout the day there will be different musical sounds and a diversity of traditional Indigenous performers such as singers, dancers, and drummers. Eat tasty food and drink cold beverages from Victoria’s local Food Trucks. Enjoy the weather outside and visit our bouncy castle, photo booth, two lane obstacle course, and human foosball. There are various lawn games set up with a chance to win several prizes. Visit Arts and Crafts and Kids areas; sip on a cup of Caffe Fantastico’s Coffee in the gym while browsing the photos from the CJPME exhibition; learn how to do traditional beading, then when you are ready, enjoy a game Bingo with our Elders.

On behalf of the Victoria Native Friendship Centre we say a special Thank You to our hard-working members and friends who give of themselves tirelessly volunteering the many hours to make it to our 50th year. The Victoria Native Friendship Centre welcomes you all to our Celebration; we wish you a most enjoyable experience and hope to see you again for our next milestone.
